Labour MP Rosie Cooper has tabled two written questions on continence care and UTI admissions

Labour MP Rosie Cooper has tabled two written questions on continence care and UTI admissions, in which she asked the Health Secretary:

  • Whether the revised Nursing and Midwifery Code will include provisions on bowel and bladder care to take account of the findings of the Francis Report on poor continence care.
  • What the cost is to the NHS of emergency hospital admissions for urinary tract infections amongst people over 65 in each of the last five years.

Although these questions were not tabled on behalf of the UTA/UGGC, Cooper is a member of the Continence Care APPG and has a long-standing interest in these issues. We will monitor for the responses to these questions.
