The Bladder and Bowel Community is the UK wide service for people with bladder and bowel control conditions. We provide information and support services, including a managed online support group, for anyone affected by these conditions as well as their families, carers and healthcare professionals.
Officially formed in June 2008 the organisation incorporates the objectives and missions of Incontact (National Action on Incontinence formed in 1989) and the Continence Foundation, which closed in May 2008.
With an estimated 14 million people in the UK with a bladder control problem and 6.5 million with a bowel control problem that has a negative impact on quality of life, our work is vital if we are to change the way in which patients are helped and supported.
Our Vision and Aims
Our mission is to inspire change and create opportunities to enable people with bladder and bowel control problems to have a voice and equal choice
We aim to:-
- Raise awareness of bladder and bowel control problems amongst the general public and healthcare professionals.
- Give access to information and support regarding the treatments, products and services for people with these conditions.
Ultimately we work towards making a real difference to the lives of those affected by bladder and bowel control problems, and delivering the kind of services that will meet the needs of those people affected by these issues.
